Matthew Akinware is a seasoned insurance and risk management professional with nearly 16 years of experience spanning underwriting, broking, auditing, and reinsurance. He holds both an HND and BSc in Insurance and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria. He is also an associate member of the Chartered Risk Management Institute of Nigeria (CRMI)

His career began in 2009 at Mutual Benefits Assurance, where he progressed through roles in insurance broking at Man-Mountain Insurance and technical auditing at Royal Exchange General Insurance (now Rex Insurance), eventually rising to Deputy Manager and later Head of Reinsurance and Statistics.

In August 2024, Matthew joined Allianz Nigeria Insurance Limited, leading the Reinsurance and Special Risks team and contributing to the Sanlam-Allianz technical integration workstream. A committed educator, he has facilitated training for over 14 years with CIIN, WAII, and CIPMN, mentoring professionals across Africa.

In May 2025, he was appointed Managing Partner at Blackprime Solution Limited, a pan-African consulting and training firm, where he oversees strategic operations. His deep expertise and commitment to financial stability and risk management continue to shape the African insurance landscape.
